Cornish, Maine Maternity & Boudoir Photographer // Why Do Most Of My Packages Come With Printed Art

Call me old, but there is nothing more satisfying than seeing pictures in print. So when I was setting my packages, I decided to incorporate some sort of art into most of them. That’s not to say that I don’t love digitals. Digitals are amazing and have a lot of potential when used the right way. You have to find the right professional lab to print them so the color is correct and in a way that they will last a life time. Digitals are not meant to be downloaded onto a computer to die and never be seen again, which is unfortunately, how most of them end up.

Personally, I’m more inclined to pick up a book or look at my walls, before I would turn on my computer to click through old pictures. There’s something about the accessibility of keeping my art on a book shelf or up on my walls so that I can always see it.

But what’s the most important reason to have your pictures printed? You will be absolutely amazed at how much better your pictures look turned into art for your walls or printed in a book. Seriously, they look so different! I can’t explain it. Image what your photos would look like in a pristine 12x12 acrylic cover, matte page album or as a 20x30 metal wall print hanging in a prominent room in your home. Your images will look so much more amazing in their intended form than they do on a computer screen.

It’s also important to remember that digital images have only become popular over the past few years. The CDs that I used to give clients after their weddings are now outdated. Then I started giving USB’s, which most new computers don’t even have a USB port anymore. Now everything is stored in the cloud. How long before that is no longer a thing? Point being, you probably still have old family pictures hanging around from a million years ago. Those will never become obsolete.

So for everyone that has ever asked me if they can just have the digital images instead before they even see there pictures, I can tell you that they don’t regret getting that “Little Black Book” album along with their package. They always thank me for having that be a part of their package and how much they love seeing themselves in print. You’re just going to have to trust me!
