Cornish Maine Boudoir Studio // Lucy's Model Call in the Tub Set
Sometimes, being a boudoir photographer means getting real creative with setups. And sometimes, it means making your friends drive a long distance to be your test models for said setups. Enter Lucy—my trusted, always-up-for-an-adventure, boudoir MVP.
The first time Lucy came to me, it was to create a set of photos as a gift for her husband. That session was all about giving, about crafting something for someone else. But this time? This time, she was doing me a solid—coming in to help me test out my brand-new tub set. And let’s be real, I think we both knew we were in for some fun.
Lucy arrived, and we immediately dove into outfit options. Because let’s be honest, half the fun of boudoir is playing dress-up. We landed on two different looks—one corset ensemble for the out-of-tub shots and a simple bra and panty set for when things got steamy (literally) in the water.
We kicked things off with the corset. I directed, she posed, and in between, we caught up on life, work, and all the things that make time fly when you're having a good laugh. I experimented with different lighting, adjusting as we went, watching the drama and contrast unfold through my lens. Boudoir is about angles, light, and attitude—and Lucy, as always, delivered.
Then came the real fun—the tub shots.
Lucy swapped into a more minimal look, climbed into the tub, and then I pulled out my secret weapon: a kids’ foam machine. Because nothing screams high-fashion boudoir like a tool meant for toddlers' birthday parties. But hey, it worked. As the tub filled with fluffy, cloud-like foam, we both cracked up. Any tension melted away because, really, how can you take yourself too seriously when surrounded by mountains of bubbles?
I clicked away, capturing the softness, the mood, the sheer playfulness of it all. The contrast between the dark and moody lighting and the lightness of the foam made for some killer shots. And by the end of it, we had a set of images that weren’t just beautiful—they were full of energy, laughter, and the kind of fun that makes boudoir photography so damn special.
Lucy, as always, was a rockstar. And the tub? A total success.
Now, who’s next?
